To be honest, I don’t care about the rear glass, if you drive a panel van, all you get are the exterior mirrors too.

By that logic rear passenger windows don’t need clearing either. If you’re in a panel van, all you have is the first row of seating anyway.

I learned to drive in a truck that almost always had wood racks installed. When the rear view mirror fell off we eventually stopped fixing it because this was our view:
The side mirrors were excellent though!

By law you only need two rear facing mirrors, so as long as they’re cleared off you’re good! (They probably aren’t)

I saw a Camry yesterday with only the driver side of the rear glass cleared.
Well thats as far as I can reach on this side, good enough.

have observed more than one proclaimed street racer say they removed their rear view mirror because they dont need to look back to know they’re winning

They are driving a Toyota. How is this different than any other day in any other Toyota? They don’t care what happens behind the B-pillar. It is like nothing matters or even exists behind them.
